I sadly take for granted being an American some days. It isn’t my intent of course, but I am so blessed to be free that sometimes the truth of what it took to give me my freedom is set up on my library shelf. Today, I am humbled. I am thankful that we have been blessed with the freedoms that we have.

I am grateful for…
my freedom to openly love the creator of my soul.
my freedom to choose to school my children in my home so my husband can work nights and still see his children.
my husband can tattoo in our local studio without hiding from our government or our church family.
my dear sweet gay friends, who now have rights they deserve.                                                                                                                                  my freedom to have a different opinion than many of my friends and family, and to sit down and have a meal together anyway.

I am grateful for the diversity of heritage, backgrounds, and lifestyles that my life is surrounded by and I am blessed beyond measure to be in this place at this time.

I hope that on this day that we are celebrating our country you take a moment to love the people you are with and extend freedom to those you do not always see eye to eye with.

Peace & Grace my friends
